Seaside Oregon

Today we started the day in Seaside checking out the local shops and walking down the promanade. It kind of reminded me of Coney Island as there were rides and such along the shop area.

After we left the promanade area we headed over to Cannon Beach. We first stopped at a state park where we had some great coastal views and this was also a view area for the Tillamook lighthouse.

With the beautiful flowers you would hardly know it was late October.

And then my worst fear crossed my path. Ugh - I can't believe how many caterpillars we saw.

Once we left this view area we went to Cannon Beach. This beach is great fro beach combing if you get there at low tide.

Not sure exactly what this is that washed up. Looks somewhat like a stingray.
This is Haystack Rock. This is where the majority of the beach combing happens. But the tide was high and we could not get out there. We did some beach combing last week in California. Saw lots of star fish and sea anemone. Those posts will be coming soon.
